Fun weeks and weekly coaching sessions
for children of all footballing abilities |
|
Midland Soccer Coaching runs weekly coaching sessions for children of all footballing abilities. Courses are run by professional Football Association qualified coaches and physical education teachers who are used to working with, and bringing out the best, in children. Taking part in our football sessions develops more than football skills. Through sport children are able to build confidence and the ability to become respectful team players, vital skills to have on and off the football pitch. We work to a structure to develop each child in their football skills and ball control whilst also encompassing football matches in every session so children can let loose and practice all they have learnt. We also run weekly holiday courses where children will have the opportunity to play football, meet new friends and take part in competitions to win medals alongside other awards. Strong links have been developed with various professional academies across the Midlands. Children who show real footballing potential are invited for trials with Paul's guidance. Paul Tait - Head Coach Paul Tait is an ex-professional footballer. Although he spent the majority of his career at Birmingham City where he made his first team debut aged 16 years versus Leeds United FC, he also played for Northampton Town (loan), Oxford United and the Cypriot first division side Nea Salamis FC. In a career lasting over 16 years, Paul made more than 300 professional appearances from his midfield position. The highlight of Paul's playing career came in 1995 when, in front of over 76,000 fans in the Auto Windscreen Final at Wembley Stadium, he scored the first ever professional 'golden goal' in a cup final. This unique feat puts him at the top of the small list of players to score a golden goal, a list which includes such international stars as Oliver Bierhoff (Germany) and Laurent Blanc (France). Since retiring, Paul, a father of four, has devoted his time to grassroots football and into helping as many children as possible participate in and enjoy sport. Alongside Paul's work at Midland Soccer Coaching, Paul is also player mentor at Birmingham City FC, where he supports all players within the PDP academy. In addition, he is also a Trauma Informed Practitioner who works within schools to support children and young people who are experiencing difficulties. Assistant Coaches Dependant upon the size and requirements of each individual course location, as well as the number of children being trained on each session, a number of assistant coaches will be used. |
